PCC/Police forces
- A follow up letter has been sent to PCCs since Stonewall headlines and Liz Truss speaking out. All to let Artless know any progress.
- Our main focus with these letters is crime reporting and searches etc.
- However, it was also suggested that other people could separately send the ‘Leave Stonewall’ letter form Sex Matters to PCCs/Police Chiefs
- It’s recommended to cc MP pr councillors that are supportive and the Chief Constable and even Minister for Justice Kit Malthouse
- Discussed that there is a Police and Crime panel for each Police area. Members of the public can attend and ask questions and this is a route people can use to follow up
- All Stonewalled police forces have been FOI’ed. Please contact Stoat if you would like details of responses.
- Responses vary but usually say how much they are paying Stonewall. Some forces claim they cannot provide the requested information as its private. In this case, one can escalate to ICO although they have been overloaded so have been trying to limit adding these requests all at once
- Discussed two cases of concern:
- Selby – Trans identified person weeping because of stickers in Sainsbury’s and police looking for CCTV
NHS
- Jess attended recent webinar by Baroness Nicholson
- She has contacted Emma Palermo to see how we can best support who suggested go straight to Emma N
- Agreed to copy in Sarah who is highly regarded by the Baroness
- Jess to check in with Stoat to align with KJK work
IPSO
- Discussed response received to recent complaint which was wholly irrelevant in the main [perhaps we can publish on GRARG website?]
